Discover is a credit card brand issued in the United States. It was introduced by Sears (an American chain of department stores) in 1985. When it was first launched, Discover did not charge any annual fees and offered a higher than the normal credit limit, which disrupted the existing credit card industry.

Another innovation by Discover was the cashback bonus feature, more on this below. Discover card is a subsidiary that is owned by Discover financial and offers financial products such as credit cards, finance and payment loans. Discover is the third-largest credit card brand in the US, with around 57 million cardholders.

Discover Card Review

The Discover card offers good value for a cashback card with no annual fee, but whether it suits everyone’s spending habits is not guaranteed. The discover it cashback card offers an introductory purchase APR of 0% on purchases for up to 14 months, and once that period ends, the APR falls in the 11.99% -22.99%. This is the same case for balance transfer fees on which you may be required to pay an introductory 3% balance transfer fee. These intro offers can be taken advantage of by making big purchases or financing expensive purchases such as emergency expenses.

Furthermore, the card’s rewards program offers 5% cashback on purchases of up to £1500 on qualifying purchases in rotating bonus categories. This is because the Discover it cashes back card changes its bonus categories every quarter, and you’ll need to activate your category in each quarter to earn the bonus rate. This means that you can earn up to £300 every year from these rotating bonus categories. The cashback can be redeemed as a deposit to a bank account, or a statement of credit, or as gift cards such as Amazon or PayPal.
