Waitrose is an upscale supermarket that has branched its operations into different sectors. It was originally founded in 1904 with three people called Waite, Rose, and Taylor taking their share of responsibility for managing the store. It was in 1937 that the John Lewis Partnership acquired this brand.

It has now grown into somewhat of a giant in the UK grocery market and has climbed the list by becoming the eighth most major grocery retailer, with a network of more than 300 shops, in the UK. Moreover, Waitrose is responsible for supplying groceries to the royal family, including the Queen and Prince Charles.

Waitrose Review

Waitrose has a reputation for being an upscale market. It offers its own credit cards with the John Lewis partnership is very convenient for customers. According to most reviews, they can easily transfer money and shop online by using online card services. Customers also get 1.25% every time they shop using their Waitrose card, and this reward can be redeemed as points later on. This loyalty scheme makes it an extremely attractive prospect to own a Waitrose card since every purchase enables you to avail some advantage.

On the other hand, studies have shown that the prices at Waitrose are high as compared to other local markets and make it difficult to shop there on a daily basis. In addition to this, customers have reported that the online orders they placed have been unexpectedly canceled.

In lieu of these cancellations, all that the customers get is an apologetic email and no explanation. There have also been delays in refunding the money paid for orders that have been canceled. This delay causes hardship for most customers since it jams their funds and prevents them from spending the money elsewhere till Waitrose transfers it back to them.
